POP
POP (Post Office Protocol) is an email protocol that downloads messages from a server to a single device and typically deletes them from the server.
POP, most commonly in its version POP3, retrieves emails from a mail server and stores them locally on the user's device. After download, the messages are usually removed from the server, which limits access to that one device. This contrasts with IMAP, which keeps emails on the server and allows synchronization across multiple devices. POP is simpler but less flexible for users who need to access email from different locations.
